What is captured

The widget records the visitor page URL, page title, path, and referrer with the chat. This helps operators understand what the visitor was looking at when they asked a question.

What happens when the visitor moves page

During an active chat, the widget watches for page changes, back or forward navigation, hash changes, and page title changes. It updates the latest page context even if the visitor has not sent another message yet.

Per-message page context

Each visitor message stores the page context from the moment that message was sent. In conversation review, expand the transcript to see which page each visitor message came from.

Open visitor page

If the captured URL is a normal http or https URL, Conversation Review shows an Open visitor page link. Unsafe or malformed values are not opened as visitor-page links.

How this helps support

Page context makes it easier to understand product questions, quote requests, account-registration questions, and checkout or support confusion without asking the visitor to describe where they are on the site.
